Ranking: 9/10

Great small campsite in very remote area beside a stream. Good place to stay to break up the journey to te urewera. It is possible to do a night walk and listen to the kiwis from there. Lovely Hike to do in whirinaki conservation area.

This campsite is very much the traditional basic kind of campsite. Peaceful ,by a stream , with a neat walking track through a forest of huge Rimu, totara etc. trees. Around March/april you will get hunters camped there otherwise you are likely to have it to yourself.
