The only castle in New Zealand. Beautiful inside and a lot of history. They tell you everything and you can spend so much time there.

In the Larnach Castle - the only castle in New Zealand. I felt almost the same way like when I was visiting some castles back home. This place and the owners have very interesting history.

Quite expensive but well worth it - the house / gardens and ball room are beautiful. Can easily spend a few hours here. History of the Larnach family is fascinating. You are welcome to take photos in the 'castle' but not use your flash - why would that be? None of our photos came out as it was too dark inside which was a shame.
