We rented our canoe for Whanganui out here. We got a good canoe, information on the rapids and good briefing before the journey. Also a free night homestay prior to the journey.

Gentle workers, wooden rim of the boat - two centimeters splinter below the finger nail (!!!). had to go to the hospital afterwards.

We heard about the Whanganui while camping up at Tongariro, and decided to see if a spur-of-the-moment canoe trip could be arranged. We chose Yeti after calling several outfitters - Yeti phone response to our many questions was excellent. We've both worked as river outfitters ourselves here in the States, so we know professionalism when we meet it. The Yeti quality continued through each step of our freedom rental. Yeti had great gear, great service, and the Whanganui journey became one of the highlights of our 3 months in NZ. Highly recommend Yeti Tours...and don't miss this river. It was wonderful!

The Whanganui Journey was for me a nice and very relaxing experience in beautiful nature. I had a friendly young and honest guide, who provided me a save and nice trip, telling stories on the way. Our last camping place was Tieke Kainga were we were lucky to meet the very friendly Maori hutwarden and had a traditional welcome with the Hongi. At night I saw fighting possums and a clear sky filled with stars. "No need for rush" was the slogan of this trip.

First time on the Whanganui River and first time in a Canoe. Wow. The guided trip was amazing as the guide covered all the history, the features, the stories and the Maori cuture associated with the river. We were lucky enough to have Grant as our guide and between his cooking skills and his naration we were left wanting for nothing. Even one day of rain did nothing to disolve the charm and pleasure of this trip. Highly recommend Yeti Tours and their professionalism.

the owner is awful and he's a raciest !! and they are really expensive!!
Yeti Canoe Tours responds:
These people had to be rescued of the river by jetboat!! after wrapping one of our two man canoes around a tree.
They didn't like the fact that we charged them an excess for the wrecked canoe, and they also had to pay the jet boat operator their cost as well.
We are still waiting for payment;
People need to take reponsibility for their own decisions when going freedom hire.
