We booked a tour and evening programme with dinner (buffet). The tour was nice, very big geyser! The evening show was cool and the dinner amazing! Traditional cooked. After dinner we went back to the geyser. There, we got hot chocolate and we could see the geyser and stars!
Very disappointed with the evening experience. Extremely overpriced for what is included. Seems extremely disorganised. Would not recommend.
We enjoyed the performance of Maori song and dance and appreciated being taught the Poi dance, but overall we felt like a herd of cattle being pushed through the evening. Food was okay. Did not get to see the geyser go off but preferred not seeing it as opposed to it being forced to erupt by pouring soap in to it.
The perfect place for a relaxed evening.
Nice trip, very interesting.
Quite expensive - but then they all are, regardless of company. A bit odd because the setting is very modern, but the dancing and food was great and we got to see a geyser explode. It is a large group though - maybe 100+ people.
Really good evening however would love to learn more about the history. Was based in a very modern complex.
Evening experience was brilliant - Mel our guide was lovely, the concert was very enjoyable and the hangi meal was delicious.
Preben vil Helmsen
We gave $138 per adult - that was expensive, the guided tour through the park was too quick but we saw the geyser. nice maori dance, food excellent.
Bubbling mud village was really cool, guide gave us tour and history, saw haka and got a real insight into Maori culture. We had a free walk around as well.
Cultural show very professional, fantastic. Meal hangi fresh but so many people to eat needed more organising (tables to go to buffet).
Know going in that this is a "touristy" thing to do. That said, it felt fairly authentic and because it is Maori owned, proceeds go to the facility. The weaver and carver craft institute was wonderful, keeping the traditional crafts alive. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the meal was. The performance was also very good. Our only disappointment was that our young guide through the geyser area was not as well informed as he could have been about Maori history and native flora/fauna, although in his defense we did ask pretty in-depth questions. Perhaps an older guide might know more. That said, he was very engaging. We would highly recommend this experience if you have only limited time in Rotorua as we did.
Thermal geysers and hot pool tour in Rotorua, very good Maori guide, very informative and interesting. Maori concert in evenin and meal. Very enjoyable with meal cooked in a hangi. Concert entertaining and well explained and performed.
We really had a nice evening with the indeginous evening experience (show and hangi were excellent!) Don't miss this fabulous experience. Also a good guide during the visit.
Thank You - to the thousands of travellers that have contributed to our Top Voted NZ Activities Map - it's free from Rankers.
Very expensive! Wai-o-tapu is cheaper and almost the same.
Good, but preferred Wai-o-tapu.

A fun evening but the out of town thermal parks are more impressive. The Maori and cultural experience is good in its own right, though poor food for vegetarians.
Traditional Maori evening and meal and to see geyser. Great value for money and service. Meal was lovely and thoroughly recommended. Geyser at end of night - fab.
Jane & Regis
Very interesting show, great meal, nice tour of wildlife and Kiwi birds afterwards.
Enthusiastic, helpful staff seemed genuinely keen to explain Maori culture and give an insight.
Drivers excellent. Thoughtfully done & food lovely! Gave a good insight into their lives. Entertainment very good.
Too "touristy" approach even if the hangi was high quality. Not authenic enough but still, it was interesting to learn the main things about Maori culture.
Very good guide and Maori show.

Food so so, nothing special. Show was nice and Moari guide a bit hard to understand.
Great night, good food & performance. We've told our friends & family to visit!
Went for the evening experience and it was excellent. Well organised with good interaction.
Combo tour and show. Very informative tour and geological walk. Brilliantly entertaining show and fantastic meal, and plenty of it!
Amazing experience. Very informative, really, really enjoyed every minute of it :)
The food was amazing, loved the performance and singing.
Great hospitality, good food, wonderful evening. More songs would be nice, but staff on stage had fun.
Small group of people, amazing concert and hangi.
Great Maori cultural evening. Welcome good then show with their dances =, songs, legends, haka - Awesome. Followed by incredible dinner, great goumet experience + saw a geyser at night.
Great stories, excellent food and good speaker.
Seemed expensive and overpriced for what it was.
Cultural performance was excellent. It was sometimes difficult to hear the guide when we took the tour of the site.
Were with small group in June, recieved a comprehensive and informative tour. The Cultural experience, concert& meal were first rate.
The guided tour at the beginning is too quick. The cultural show was fantastic, it blew me away!
Nice singing and dancing.
Quite hard to see inside, a bit crowded and the stage was right down the bottom.
Mike and Joyce Timms
Superb, though the Haka lacked the agresion I'm used to with the All Blacks (Mike only, Joyce not in accord!)
Really enjoyed the cultural experience - lovely guide. Worth doing.
I thought it was quite well done, the Maori culture and hangi lunch were interesting.
Gave us everything we wanted in New Zealand.
Better than the maori evenings in Taupo for maori info and experience.
