This is the best museum experience I have ever had
We spent two days over 10 hours here
The exhibits are exceptional.
The tribal art, boats and buildings are see inspiring with ample details to give you a sense of life and culture of the Maori
The Gallipoli exhibit takes to to another time you can feel goose bumps forming and it is transports you to another time
The modern art installations I personally think are better than the Tate.
The building is so impressive everywhere you look you see amazing architecture it is so easy to get around lots of lifts and easy to manage stairs
Great cafes with a really interesting selection of food to cater for all tastes
I wish I could pick it up and take it home
Both the Maori and the WW1 exhibits were spectacular. Sorry the WW1 exhibit is to be dismantled - I think it should be a permanent fixture. Well appointed, well researched, well written and the figures are spectacular.

Loved the exposition about how volcanoes work and the geological history of NZ. Clear explanations and interactive fun (an earthquake room). The Maori exposition and great war place were a little boring.

Very interesting museum. You can learn a lot about the history and geography of New Zealand!! And hey, it is free to go there!!
Really informative and well put together museum and food and drinks were delicious.
The best WW1/Gallipoli exhibition I have seen. Peter Jackson has done an incredible job at bringing the past to life in an engaging, educational manner. Highly recommend.
Went and saw the new bug special exhibition. Very good set up but quite expensive for the exhibition. A lot of interactive parts made it fun.
Insightful Maori history with numerous artefacts on show. Easily spent a few hours there with different exhibits to please most.
Incredible and emotional experience. It makes us realise how damn lucky we are.
Great displays. Very interactive. Cheap (free)! Food is sensibly priced in the cafe.
Incredible, to go, visit, see.
Good free WiFi. Nice displays of all kinds of things, especially about the history of New Zealand.
